A major fire at a women's shelter in Rosemont forces 37 people to evacuate

After 9 a.m., a fire erupted at the Maison Marguerite, a non-profit organization that offers housing for women in need.

Around 150 Montreal firefighters were called to put the fire out at the residence in the Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie borough.

After the fire incident, the Red Cross is currently providing care for approximately 37 women.

According to the fire department, the building is currently uninhabitable. 

An investigation is currently underway to find out the cause of the fire. Stay tuned for more on the story.
